Between the Craters : A Lunar Governance Crisis Simulation

Design and fabrication of a playable lunar gameboard and playing pieces for a near-future governance crisis simulation, developed with the Open Lunar Foundation, Dark Matter Labs, and partners, and first played at the International Astronautical Congress in Sydney, Australia.

The gameboard was based on a real lunar crater near the south pole, drawn from topographic data, with solar analysis used to determine areas of light, permanent shadow, ice and minerals. Playing pieces representing competing lunar factions were designed and 3D printed for use across the simulation.
